Smoochie is learning to stand up with authority!
He grabs whatever happens to be around, me, a table, his round-about, pulls himself up, and plants his feet firmly on the ground.
I've even seen him let go briefly a few times!
He continues to be enamored with ceiling fans. He can't get enough of them. I think we'll have to get something to hang off of his.
Mommy got some bamboo for your room last weekend. Slowly, but surely work begins on your room.
I missed out on your swimming adventure this weekend. I heard you had lots of fun. We really need to start carrying the cameras with us always. I think we may have to buy another just to keep in the diaper bag. I don't want Granny to miss anything; I'd like to have it "digitally" right away.
I've started working on your website again. I had to install a few things on my laptop. I'll need to dedicate some time pretty much everyday.
I love you smiley!

This week you started "talking"!
You are continuing your Yum Yum Yum Yum, with Ma Ma Ma Ma, Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, and Bah Bah Bah!
You can kind-of wave when you want and you clap more now.
You looked so cute in your Hawaiian shirt last night.
I'm sure you'll look just as great in September!
I sure hope you get over this cold soon, because we've got swimming to do.

Hey Smoochie,
We had a pretty rough day when I got home.
You were feeling pretty bad, and so was Mommy.
You cried for a while, because you couldn't breathe very good. You're pretty stopped up right now.
We played while Mommy got us food. We went outside to touch the leaves on the tree. You really liked that. You clapped your hands and squealed.
You started clapping your hands when you like something, or when you're excited. That's very cool. You're actually beginning to express pleasure.
Wow.
Another day of amazement for your Father.

Today, I tried to play "hooky" and stay home with you and Mommy.
It didn't work.
I had lots of work to do; problems keep showing up at the least opportune moment.
You and Mommy weren't feeling very well.
I did have fun staying at home, even though I worked all day.
You are a treasure.
Now you're starting to "want" things. You move according to your own desires. It's pretty cool to see you go to see Mommy in another room or go find a toy you like.

Oh, Sweetie...You are doing something new just about every day. One day you're trying to crawl, the next day you're crawling and then the next day, you're trying to walk! You don't like being down on the ground. You want to be up and about. When you're crawling you'll stick your little butt up in the air with your legs as straight as they will go and then you try and stand up. You're constantly pulling yourself up on things so you can be standing up. On Monday, you were even standing up on your tippy-toes. It was sooo cute.
You've also started this thing where when you get full, you gag. That's your sign that you don't want anymore to eat! And speaking of eating, you're trying big people food. Granny gave you a couple of bites of her ice cream sandwich (just the ice cream part) and you loved it. You've gummed some carrot sticks off of my plate and you've tried some Ritz chips off of daddy's plate. And last night, you sucked on a piece of an orange. You made an awful face and shook all over, but then you wanted more! You are just so adorable because it's like you know you are eating like a grown-up. And the heck with your sippy cup. You want us to take the lid off so you can drink out of it like a big boy!! And you've also started this "yum-yum-yum" when you eat. While you're eating you'll go "yum-yum-yum" and smack your mouth.
You surprise us everyday with something new and it's just amazing. Daddy and I are just so aw-struck at how smart you are and of all the things you are doing and you're only 7 month old. You're incredible.
I love you, son....Mommie

Yesterday was a busy day for everyone!
Chili's, Old Navy, Target, and then a few hours of yardwork. You took it all in stride.
Playtime at Chili's, a new hat from Old Navy, sleeping on me in Target, dinner in the carride home, and playtime outside with a nap in the swing. You had a very full day!
Mommy came running outside while I was working in the yard to get me inside. When I got there you were mimicking her! Yum-yum-yum-yum! Wow! Your suprises don't ever stop!
